Ripple of One
The Vision of Ripple of One is to transform generational poverty into generational progress one family at a time until the state of South Carolina is know for statistics in economic development rather than abuse and poverty.
Our clients are given incentives to reach for higher education, obtain a job, and learn how to save and budget.
Ripple of One motivates and empowers people to reach higher than living on public assistance. We offer our participants incentives that make them successful in their journey with us.
Volunteers are needed for Ripple of One. Some of the volunteer opportunities are:
Mentor
You don't have to have any special qualifications to become a mentor, other than having a heart for listening to and encouraging others, and just walking through life with them. Time commitment ranges from 1-2 hours a week and attending 1 hour meetings once a month.
Celebration Coordinator
Do you like scheduling parties? We need someone a few times a year to plan the celebration for our participants - This would be for holiday and award celebrations for our volunteers and clients.
Financial Coaches
The Financial coach meets with their parent once a month to help them stay on track with a budget. You would motivate and inspire as well as serve as an accountability partner. The time commitment for this position is approximately 6 hours a month.
Ripple Angels
Save a participant in a pinch. For example, help with our Lil’ Ripplers if we are short handed for an event. If a participants car is in the shop, you could provide a ride for a family to an appointment or Ripple event. Have a truck? Help deliver furniture for a family!
